Magee High School junior Kaylyn Durr has been selected to serve on the 2026-2027 State Superintendent's Student Advisory Council.

The council brings together high school students across Mississippi to provide the State Superintendent of Education with student perspectives on educational opportunities and policies. Members also serve as liaisons between the Mississippi Department of Education and public school students throughout the state and participate in scheduled meetings, discussions, and group projects.

Selected students in grades 11-12 serve as members of the council. Juniors may serve for two years, while seniors serve for one year.

The Simpson County School District congratulates Kaylyn on this outstanding accomplishment and is proud to see her represent Magee High School and SCSD at the state level.
